Arizona Philharmonic timpanist Maria Flurry leads an interactive OLLI class at Yavapai College Prescott Campus exploring the instruments used in manos Percussion’s May 23 concert at the Highlands Center. Participants will hear and learn about steel pan, gongs, glockenspiel, duck call, water, and other instruments that help create the trio’s mix of classical and world sounds. OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Yavapai College, offers learning, social, and teaching opportunities for adults 50 and older. The class is free, with registration requested.
