Arizona Philharmonic principal cellist Wesley Skinner presents this Community Chat, a free OLLI class, three days before the Echoes Across Time concert on February 14. The time and topic are to be announced.
New this season, Arizona Philharmonic partners with Yavapai College’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) for a series of free OLLI classes. Each session takes you behind the music with our artists and conductor, exploring the ideas, stories, and techniques that shape a performance. Each class is offered a few days before its companion concert, so you arrive ready to listen with a deeper ear.
Classes are held on the Yavapai College campus and are free and open to the public. Advance registration through OLLI is required. Registration is not open yet. The class will appear in the OLLI catalog when it opens.

Then hear the trio. Miki Aoki, Luke Hill and Wesley Skinner play Handel, Fazıl Say and Tchaikovsky, Sunday February 14 at Ruth Street Theater.
Cellist Wesley Skinner is the principal cellist of Arizona Philharmonic with degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Arizona State University. Wesley explores innovative programming through cross-disciplinary collaboration with female and Latin American composers, as well as commissioning new works for the cello repertoire. He has won awards internationally as a soloist and chamber musician in addition to his music composition for theater here in Arizona. Wesley works with hundreds of cellists yearly between his private studio, summer teaching, and community outreach.
