Community Chats with AZ Phil: Peter Bay
Conductor Peter Bay presents this Community Chat, a free OLLI class, three days before the Beethoven Goes to the Dogs concert on April 25. The time and topic are to be announced.
New this season, Arizona Philharmonic partners with Yavapai College’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) for a series of free OLLI classes. Each session takes you behind the music with our artists and conductor, exploring the ideas, stories, and techniques that shape a performance. Each class is offered a few days before its companion concert, so you arrive ready to listen with a deeper ear.
Classes are held on the Yavapai College campus and are free and open to the public. Advance registration through OLLI is required. Registration is not open yet. The class will appear in the OLLI catalog when it opens.

Then hear the season close. Laura Arganbright in Grandval’s Oboe Concerto and Beethoven’s First, Sunday April 25 at Ruth Street Theater.
Peter Bay has served as conductor of Arizona Philharmonic since 2018. He is also Music Director and Conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and Resident Conductor of the Piano Texas Festival. Bay has appeared with more than 80 orchestras, including the National, Chicago, St. Louis, Houston, Dallas, Baltimore, and Fort Worth symphonies, and has held music-director posts with the Erie Philharmonic, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and several music festivals. He is also the primary conductor for Ballet Austin.
