Step into a spring concert where color, dance, and shadow unfold through three distinct voices. Double Steinway Artist James D’León returns with an audience-favorite chamber trio for a program that spans vivid contrasts and expressive depth. Jennifer Higdon’s Piano Trio paints with sound in movements titled Pale Yellow and Fiery Red. Granados’s rarely heard trio blends Spanish romanticism with lyrical motion, while Beethoven’s “Ghost” Trio evokes tension and transformation through its haunting middle movement. These works, all written in spring, reveal how deeply season and spirit shape musical imagination.
Jennifer Higdon represents a modern American voice in this program honoring America 250.
