A Taste of Jácome Flamenco
Chris & Lena Jácome are an extraordinary flamenco couple with a long history of crafting shows that meld flamenco with classical. The work above is from their June 26, 2021 épocas show presented at Vista Center for the Arts Playhouse in Surprise, AZ.
For December 3 & 4 in both Surprise and Prescott, Chris has crafted a new brand new show of his own compositions and arrangements for Arizona Philharmonic, this time themed around Christmas. In this show entitled PAZ (Spanish for "peace"), Jácome Flamenco and AZ Phil musicians present favorite Christmas offerings ranging from the tranquility of Silent Night to the joy of First Noel, in addition to new original works and flamenco arrangements of classical Holiday tunes. Allen Ames on violin, Jeannette Moore on flute, and Ruthie Wilde on cello all return to join Chris and Lena on stage.
Tickets for both the shows in Surprise, AZ at The Vista Center for the Arts (December 3) and in Prescott, AZ at the Elks Theatre Main Stage (December 4) are available at AZPhil.org.
About Chris & Lena Jácome
Internationally acclaimed flamenco duo Chris & Lena Jácome provide intimate, inviting, and exhilarating flamenco performances that only a perfectly matched pair can manifest. Their exquisitely refined, authentic, and heartfelt approach to flamenco reflects years of training in Sevilla, Spain built on top of their original American musical roots and formal ballet/modern dance training. They have published nine albums, two DVDs, sheet music, and online training courses. Chris Jácome composes for the Jácome Flamenco Touring Company and has a number of orchestra, chamber ensemble, movie, and television scores to his credit.
The Jácomes have performed internationally in Mexico, Canada, Spain and Indonesia, and at prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center in New York City and the Redlands Bowl in California. This will be their third show with Arizona Philharmonic.

The MacDougal Street West Experience is a Peter, Paul and Mary tribute band performing the acoustic music and harmonies that changed the world and are still relevant today.
