Prescott Chorale to Debut Fragments, Composed by Henry Flurry, Arizona Philharmonic Executive Director

PRESCOTT, AZ—September 28, 2023—The Prescott Chorale, under Director Dennis Houser, is proud to present the debut of Arizona Philharmonic’s Executive Director Henry Flurry’s recently revised Fragments, as part of its Dreams of Eternity performance October 6 and 7. Fragments, originally presented in 2013, was composed by Flurry based on eight pieces derived from the Dead Sea Scrolls that reflect upon questioning, awe, thankfulness, and humility. This will be the first performance of this newly revised work, now expanded and incorporating string and percussion accompaniment to the chorus. Prescott Chorale’s Dreams of Eternity, an impassioned journey of musical emotion, continues with two short works by young, contemporary composer, Ola Gjeilo.

“It is remarkable to have such a breadth of experience and talent in one local Prescott musician and we are excited to debut this remarkable composition,” commented Dennis Houser, Prescott Chorale Director. The performances take place Friday, October 6, at 7:00pm and Saturday, October 7, at 3:00pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2000 Shepherds Lane, Prescott.
