Educational Outreach
- Art 4 All™ is a fundamental component of Arizona Philharmonic’s efforts to bring professional orchestra music to all interested members of the community. In our Art 4 All program, AZ Phil offers free, or pay-what-you-can, audience opportunities, allowing those people in our community who might not otherwise be able to afford it to experience the beauty of a professional orchestra or chamber music concert. - Constellations to Compositions – Constellations to Composition was Arizona Philharmonic’s 2019-2020 outreach collaboration with the Jim and Linda Lee Planetarium and Prescott Unified School District. Nine classes of PUSD third and six graders participated in this program. Arizona Philharmonic performed a selection of these compositions in our 2021-2022 season as part of a fundraiser for the Prescott Police Youth Role Model Scholarship Program. This outreach was partially funded by the City of Prescott’s Acker Trust Fund.
- Boys to Men – In February 2020 we visited with Boys to Men youth and mentors to help them craft a new music for a movie. Their work, entitled “Reflection of Brotherhood”, accompanies an imagined movie about rivalry and cooperation.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters – From its inception, AZ Phil has been committed to introducing children, young people and veterans unfamiliar with classical music to its performances. Drawing from the expertise of Henry and Maria Flurry, whose Chaparral Arts training program and Sticks and Tones interactive workshops teach children about music, AZ Phil has conducted workshops with youngsters in the Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
Arizona Philharmonic continues to collaborate with other organizations. In 2022-2023, we initiated outreach programs in collaboration with the Highlands Center for Natural History.
