In an effort to continue to listen and improve, Arizona Philharmonic sends out surveys to our audiences after every concert. Almost all of your feedback tells us that we're on the right track. (And, occasionally, you point out when we're not, which we appreciate.)
On Sunday, January 8, 3 PM, at Yavapai College Performing Arts Center, Arizona Philharmonic is presenting the James D'León and Friends concert, which features the piano quintet of Steinway Artist James D'León and the Arizona Philharmonic String Quartet. In honor of this, I'd like to quote an incredible endorsement we received about last year's piano quintet concert:
WOW - What a concert. Over the years I have seen way over 1,000 concerts and have been a judge at more piano competitions than you could begin to imagine! I even had a great seat to see Van Cliburn!!
This time I had, without any doubt, the #1 best seat in your auditorium (for me personally) as it was, throughout, a clear view of the fingers of each performer - they were all AMAZING - pitch perfect and the acoustics are best where we sat.
James D'Leon was phenomenal. So much went into that performance. His clean playing, expression, balance, flawless page turning, coordination with each other performer. I thought I could fit a few of my emotional feelings onto this card, but truly my feelings were over the top! I was crying before we left.
Very few people can know the hours of prep that went into that concert. It was the best I have seen. I could say much more but am out of room - just, THANKS AGAIN! WOW
And for that review, I must also say, "Wow" and "Thank you". If you missed that performance, you can listen to an excerpt of it below.
You do not want to miss this concert. Joining James on January 8 are Arizona Philharmonic's Concertmaster Katie McLin, Principal Violin II Luke Hill, guest violist Kim Hankins, and our Principal Cellist Ruthie Wilde - all of whom are terrific musicians. Please join us and invite your friends. (Word of mouth is so important!)

Our Musicians Are Arizona Philharmonic
The musicians who play with Arizona Philharmonic are passionate about their art. They devote their career to music. They show up at the first rehearsal already prepared to perform. They imbue artistry into their individual lines, so that the whole is a cohesive work of beauty.
Without these musicians and the passion that starts within their practice studios, we would not be Arizona Philharmonic.
Without these musicians, we could not fulfill our mission: to build an incredible orchestra based here in Prescott.
And without these musicians, we could not fulfill our vision: to offer amazing art and to invest in our local performing arts community.
We attract the best musicians from across Arizona and beyond, and they deserve a resounding "Thank You" for making AZ Phil what it is.
Some of these musicians have since joined other local ensembles, and we Thank You for further investing in Prescott's arts.
And a handful of professional musicians have recently moved to Prescott, specifically citing Arizona Philharmonic as a major consideration for that decision. We Thank You for becoming a valued part of our community.
To our patrons, consider this: an investment in Arizona Philharmonic is an investment in the entire Prescott performing arts scene.
We invite you to donate now or make an IRA qualified charitable distribution. All gifts are eligible for tax-deduction.
