SUMMARY:manos Percussion: Quarter Millennium Celebration
DESCRIPTION:manos Percussion features three classically trained percussionists with Arizona Philharmonic ties: Maria Flurry\, AZ Phil’s principal timpanist\, joined by Bensen Kwan and Joshua Ferrell\, both of whom have performed on our stage. Part of the trio’s Quarter Millennium Celebration tour\, this program marks America’s 250th year through European classical roots\, Afro-Caribbean rhythms\, nature sounds\, jazz\, and contemporary voices. With 37 instruments on stage\, including water percussion\, steel pan\, gongs\, glockenspiel\, and other unexpected sounds\, manos creates a program shaped by precision\, curiosity\, and the wide range of traditions woven through the American story.
