The Violin As Passport: How One Instrument Plays Music From Around the World
Is it a violin or a fiddle? Not only does it depend on if you’re playing classical, folk, or popular music but also if you happen to be playing music from Ireland, Iran, or the American Southwest.
Come and explore this iconic string instrument with Arizona Philharmonic violinist Dr. Michael DiBarry on Saturday, February 1st at 11am, and learn why the violin is profoundly versatile in countless musical traditions around the world.
Please note this event requires a ticket, and is separate from the pre-concert talk at 2pm on Sunday, January 11th.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children for general admission.
Location is Ruth Street Theater at 11:00 am on February 1st.
