Prescott on Arizona's Cultural Map
Arizona Philharmonic and Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet are putting Prescott on Arizona's cultural map.
Almost every AZ Phil concert of the last five years has felt like a new watermark, and audience surveys have supported this perception. We have to thank conductors Peter Bay and Dr. Joshua Harper, Concertmaster Katie McLin, and the musicians of Arizona Philharmonic and Quartz Ensemble for this artistic, technical, and transformative growth.
This week, international conductor Alexander Walker arrives in Prescott from London, after a busy season of conducting throughout Europe. He will lead Arizona Philharmonic and ballet stars from across the world in perennial Christmas favorites from The Nutcracker. You'll see all of The Nutcracker's beautiful solos and pas de deux, including Snow Scene, Trepak, Waltz of the Flowers, Sugar Plum Fairy, and the Grand Pas de Deux.
In this same performance, AZ Phil is proud to perform Britain's favorite, Les Patineurs (The Ice Skaters), danced with new choreography paying homage to Sir Frederick Ashton, the original choreographer of that ballet.
Dancers from local studio Lessons by Lexe (led by Alexes Niekamp), Una Voce Women's Choir (directed by Arlene Hardy), and Voci Sorella (of the Yavapai Youth Choirs) join us on stage and further brighten the spirit of the entire performance.
Margot Fonteyn was arguably one of the most famous prima ballerinas of all time. Her legacy is passed to future generations through the Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet. Come experience Prescott's premier holiday event, The Nutcracker Christmas Celebration. While tickets to our December 17 & 18 shows are over 80% sold, there still are plenty of great seats in the balcony where you can easily see the entire stage.

Art 4 All is a fundamental component of Arizona Philharmonic’s efforts to bring professional orchestra music to all interested members of the community.
In our Art 4 All program, AZ Phil offers free, or pay-what-you-can, audience opportunities to anybody in the community who otherwise could not afford a ticket.

Currently we are offering coupons for the Prescott DRESS REHEARSAL of A Nutcracker Christmas Celebration, performing on THURSDAY, December 15 at 5pm.
During a dress rehearsal, you will see the entire show in full costume. There likely will be times where the conductor or artistic director will stop to make adjustments to the performance.
