PRESCOTT, AZ, Aug 29, 2024— The public is invited to join Arizona Philharmonic Conductor Peter Bay and Timpanist, Maria Flurry, as they kickoff AZ Phil’s first interactive Community Lecture Series on Saturday, September 7th from 11:00 – 12:00 pm at the Ruth Street Theater, at 1050 Ruth Street on the Prescott High School grounds. “Prepare for the concert by experiencing the fun of sitting on-stage in an actual AZ Phil musician’s seat. You will be joined by Maestro Peter Bay, our honored conductor, and me, timpanist Maria Flurry. From the podium, Maestro Bay will shed light on what a conductor actually does when it is time to step away from the audience and start the music. Join us for fun and learning,” added Maria Flurry, AZ Phil Timpanist.

“We have so much positive feedback from the pre-concert emails that Artistic Director, Henry Flurry, sends out prior to each concert during the season, we decided to add an extra opportunity to share musical insights with the community,’ commented Abby Coffey, AZ Phil Executive Director. “With all this positive feedback, we knew that adding a Community Lecture Series to provide everyone with an interest the opportunity to explore more concert-related topics in-depth would be a valuable way to continue to enhance the experience of the concert audiences in Prescott,” Coffey added. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children, available HERE.
