An Interview with Dr. Joshua Harper, Part 2

Dr. Joshua Harper continues his interview to chat about the upcoming concert Elijah concert on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Yavapai College Performing Arts Center. Joshua is Founder and Artistic Director of the outstanding chorus Quartz Ensemble and will be conducting Arizona Philharmonic with Quartz Ensemble at the Elijah concert. Joshua's first interview can be found here.

Mendelssohn's Elijah is one of the most famous oratorios ever written. In the video, Joshua talks about how an oratorio like Elijah can be more engaging than a cantata, how this performance is unique, how the music and words bring to life the story of the prophet Elijah for both young and old, and some details of a few amazing elements within Mendelssohn's music

We hope you enjoy this four-minute continuation of the interview. And we hope you come to hear the beautiful, clear tones of Quartz Ensemble singing Elijah with AZ Phil instrumentalists.

See you there!
